In 2003 I participated in a student exchange term at CCAC in Oakland California, specifically for the Bay Area’s prominent mixed race population. Based on an unsolicited access I felt through recognizing mixedness in others, I approached, photographed and surveyed multi-racial strangers as a way of seeking more clarity in my own bi-racial identity. These portraits are a record of these meetings.
